Steve Guerrero is a Bay Area native who grew up in South San José and graduated from East Side Union High School District's, Santa Teresa High School. During his second year at Evergreen Community College, he started a janitorial business, which allowed him to attend San José State University and be the first in his family to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.
For the past fifteen years, Steve has held several high-tech business development positions. Since 2003 he has worked with the Cities and K-12 School Districts in Santa Clara County for AT&T. As a Senior Account Manager, he supports the networks and telecommunication requirements in the public sector. He received the "Circle of Excellence" award in 2006. He volunteers within AT&T as a "Pioneer" by helping with "Christmas in the Park" and is a Supplier Diversity Ambassador that helps minority companies do business with AT&T. Steve and his wife, Lisa operate a family entertainment company, Mobile Mountain. People climb their 25-foot portable rock wall at local community events like the Tamale Festival and Santa Clara County Fair. Together they also help people experience the "American Dream" through GuerreroProperties.com, a local real estate practice with Re/Max Associates.
When he is not working, Steve serves his community as a Volunteer Role Model and Chairman for the Role Model Program. The program teaches the "Dare to Dream" curriculum to "At Risk" elementary school students in Santa Clara County and shares the importance of graduating high school and attending college. For the past 2 years, he has chaired the "Fairways to Success" golf tournament, which has helped raise over $400K. Steve served as a Board Member for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley and assisted in the development of their website and 50th Anniversary Gala, and Golf Tournament. Other volunteer activities include being the Coordinator for Gifted and Talented Students (GATE) of Sakamoto Elementary School, and serving on the Board for the American Musical Theatre (AMTSJ). Steve's community involvement stems from a community minded oriented family. His mother, Lorraine is a Head Start teacher, and has taught at risk children for the past 38 years and is also a Mentor Teacher for Early Childhood Students at San José City College. His father, Steve Guerrero Sr. was an activist and Hispanic business leader and served on several community based
boards.
Steve and Lisa were married in 1995 and have two daughters, Meriah and Isabella. They enjoy spending their time together at swim, gymnastics, Girl Scouts, Y-Adventure Guides, and GATE activities.
